IPI Polytechnic Inaugural Graduation Ceremony

On the 4th of July 2015, IPI held its inaugural graduation ceremony for the IPI AMANI YOUTH POLYTECHNIC. The polytechnic, which opened in 2012, has seen over 63 young men and women from very poor and/or HIV AIDS challenged backgrounds complete their studies in Clothing & Textile and Hospitality & Hotel Management. These 63 young people graduated during this auspicious occasion. Among them were 42 hospitality and hotel management graduates and 21 clothing and textile graduates. Out of the 42 hospitality and hotel management graduates, 27 are already employed in hotels in Meru County, while 11 are doing their internships. Four are self-employed in the hotel and catering industry. Among the 21 Clothing and textile graduates, 9 are employed in various garment making shops in Meru while the rest are self-employed in the same industry.

Empowerment through education is one of IPI’s tools for bringing positive change to the community.   Congratulations, graduates!
