IPI leads many nonviolence and peace training programs whose mission is the prevention and transformation of conflict through research, education, and training.  IPI believes that only “homegrown” peace initiatives will save Africa from the current quagmire of persistent conflicts.Training civic, social, and governmental groups, and including traditional peace processes adapted to contemporary use, are significant aspects of peacebuilding in Africa.  IPI, through programs like INPEACE and New Generation Leaders, is committed to serving that goal.
